Saboo's Garden

Post by Saboo » Thu Oct 24, 2019 5:09 pm

Pretty good news all around when I checked the tents this morning.

After 4 days of 12/12 the Saskatchewan Seed Company Green Beach CBD is turning into a really pretty plant. It's back under 18/6 and I'm hoping to see preflowers in the next couple days.

Both Romulan are healthy. Barely a week old and already showing some faint reddish-purple on the leaves

Two of three White Nights have broken their shell and one sprout is now above the coco. My first cross is passing the early tests.

When harvesting the Northern Lights seeds a while back, I made three piles. One pile was tiny white misshapen things that went in the trash. The second pile was big, beautiful, dark, striped seeds, the top of the class. The third pile was the maybes, fully formed but not dark, perhaps a little weird looking. A couple days ago on a whim I grabbed the best looking of the maybe pile and put it on paper towel. This morning a tap root had emerged. My first IBL's look to be viable seeds.

The Lucky 13 bonus White Wolf(NLxRomulanxChemdog91,iirc) is looking amazing. Robust and beautiful and growing fast.
May finally be figuring out the cloning game, too.
I hope your day is going as well as mine. :D

The final White Night popped!
3 for 3 on the White Night(White Widow x Northern Lights) and 1/1 on the Northern Lights.

All 4 are in coco and the first one has already emerged. Pretty damn happy about this project. :) :D

Good morning from the girls. That's the BB on the rear left. Clockwise from there, Skunkberry, Skunkberry, Northern Skunk.

Thanks. Perpetual can make managing canopy height a challenge, especially when mixing strains. Once in a while I misjudge and one of them needs a booster chair. ;)

Got banned from RIU, don't know why, don't care. Deleted my pic hosting account to remove my content linked from that site, hence my photos disappearing here, in case anyone wondered. It was not done because of this place.

Did it have anything to do with Uncle Buck?

Anyways welcome to the club

Chances are if you posted in the politics section and Uncle B or an admin didn't like what you said you got banned.

Saboo, didn't you buy a JOTI Pure Blueberry a while back? Did you plant it?
I wonder how it's different than their standard Blueberry strain.

Figured it out: got banned from RUI for a comment I made on the Chuckers Paradise board. Lots of people did.

ironically that was on the same day I decided to leave Chuckers after seeing a bad double standard. That is a weird Stepford kind of place. If you toe the line everyone is happy and friendly but you can sense something isn't right. Then I saw them turn on one poster who dared question the mighty leader's omnipotence. The pack tore her to shreds, led by someone called heisenbeans, who was posting repulsive things. The doublespeak and mental gymnastics they used to justify their behaviour was truly disturbing.

Anyway, I'm pretty disgusted by the whole online growing community right now. It seems like the ugly hateful tribalism of yankee politics has infested everything and everyone.

I did, however, feel I owed you an explanation for deleting my content. Not sure if I'll stick around, but I do hope you are all doing well and progressing in your journey.

Edit that doesn't deserve a post of its own: checked the Chuckers board today. After promising there would be no politics there, the Fuhrer changed his mind. It was like a fucking toilet exploded. The hateful shit spewed sky high. All the ugly they'd been hiding was immediately and proudly posted. It was disturbing and repulsive.
Thank you for a Canadian haven, Jefferson.

Hey Gio,
I did pick up the JOTI pure bb, but haven't gotten to it yet. Probably won't be trying any outside genetics until Autumn.

I'm mostly working with my C99 cut at the moment. Reversing one with colloidal silver right now and flowering out a few others to refill the jars while also growing out some seeds looking for a male.

There's some PSBC bb clones under the dome, I'm still looking for a truly special mom. Planning to hit one with L13 Romulan pollen for a stinky potent cross..

Also, my White Wolf from L13 turned out amazing. I'm flowering out a clone and will be revegging at the end as I didn't know how good this was until it was too late for more clones. I intend to backcross it with the Romulan and may even add some BB at some point.

Another great thing about L13 is their customer service. Professor Sprout always replies with thoughtful, through emails, and was really helpful to me throughout my first grow.

My wife's favorite from them is Korengal Kush. Mine is their Grand Daddy Purple, although for my next grow I'm going to plant some of CSI Humboldt's Purple Urkle s1 to see what it's like.

I sent a brief note to L13 to give some feedback. 'Professor Sprout' was friendly enough but very salesman-y. All I wanted to do was say thanks for some good genetics but he kept going. He emailed wanting to use my feedback on his site, and had a bunch more questions. Then I got another email asking me to fill out some kind of report about my methods in exchange for a pack of seeds.
I finally shut him down. I wasn't looking for freebies, just giving credit where due. He actually turned me off a bit. Still very happy with their seeds, but not him so much.
I am planning on hitting a clone of the White Wolf with Romulan pollen for a backcross of some sort. The L13 description of WW is a '3 way pairing' of Romulan, White Widow and a Chemdog cut. Ignoring the impossibility of a '3 way pair', given that 'pair; means 'two' , I don't know what percentage the Romulan makes up of the parent. It should be interesting to see what emerges. At least I'll get to give it a new name. I still feel dumber every time I type White Wolf. :?

The first of the Black Cali Grapes is in the jars. Amazing bag appeal, just trichomes for days. The smell is not strong but it is very, very potent. Likely going to keep a cut of this one for a while. Hoping the nose develops a bit after a cure.

The two Blueberry that were in the small square pots just came down as well. Nice dark colouring and a really impressive yield given only 9 days of veg. Each of them provided well over 2 zips dry.

The C99 I'm trying to reverse is 14 days into flower. Previous attempts ended with empty pollen sacks so I'm continuing the colloidal silver spray rather than stopping when I saw the first male flowers. Should know within two weeks if this was successful.

Ok, I'm just going to go right out an say it ... I'm super jealous over here lol. I've been enjoying your posts and recently ended up buying 3.5g of Blueberry from a local, legal dispensary, just to get my first try of it. It had a decent smell and the effects were good, but it was bone dry, like a Ritz cracker, harsh, and had nowhere near the beautiful smell of anything homegrown. I can't imagine how good the smell would be from a good, organic, indoor, homegrow.

My first attempt at growing BB bit the dust because my plants were undernourished for a while and they just couldn't recover. I'm going to keep at it though. I'm at 5.5 weeks of flower in my current grow and for the next round, I'll maybe throw 4 of Peak's BB as well as 4 from JD Short.

Saboo, I think that Grand Daddy Purple and the Korengal Kush are great strains from L13 and I'm going to keep growing them for a while. I dealt with Professor Sprout quite a bit and always thought he went out of his way for me whenever I needed anything. Fwiw, I don't know him and we live on opposite sides of the country. I recently got some Purple Urkle seeds from CSI Humboldt because I've read some amazing reviews. I read that GDP is like a watered-down version of Purple Urkle, which I know people would debate, but why not try it? Sorry to go off topic...

Thanks Joe.
There's no off topic to go to. Just growers shooting the breeze. :)

I was 3-4 years into perpetually growing before things started to really click for me. It sounds like you've had some early successes, esp outdoor, that are way ahead of my learning curve. You'll probably kick BB's ass next attempt. Sorry the store bought stuff was a disappointment.

Re the 'professor', he was in no way unpleasant, and he sells good stuff. I will probably pick up L13 White Widow at some point. Ether theirs or Joey Weed's. I want some WW regs for the vault.

Joey Weed's gear interests me too, I've read a handful of forum comments in which he's called a talented breeder. His NL and BB look like they'd be worthy to try out. I think that Hemp Depot stocks his seeds.

Joey Weed and KC Brains are on my to-try list for Hemp Depot stuff. I wouldn't mind grabbing some of Bean Ho's black widow gear that's on sale either, but there are other priorities these days than seeds.

Given the outstanding result of my first try with JOTI, I'm pretty exited about trying more of his stuff as well. I have popped one each of the other JOTI strains I have, OG Kush, Pure Blueberry and God's White Banana Kush. If any are as impressive as the Black Cali Grapes pheno I have, that would be amazing.

I have some JOTI Purple Kush in the room, it's unbelievably frosty now that it's closer to completion. I've been really impressed with it so far.
I wonder what the difference is between his Blueberry and Pure Blueberry, maybe just a specific pheno? Can't wait to see how that one goes for you.

The more I do this, the more I get excited about Canadian breeders.

I get so annoyed at all the yankees who insist they are the only people in the world that can grow good cannabis.
"Don't even look at any of that European shit, bruh. It's all garbage, fam. All the fire is from Murican growers, mang."

Any intelligent, observant and diligent person can do amazing things with our favourite plant, and there are plenty of Canadians growing and selling great genetics, as we are both learning.
-------------------------------
The Pure Blueberry is also called Blueberry Muffin Edition, so I assume he's claiming to have isolated a pheno. I think the only way to actually do that is by cloning, so I am expecting the same variability as any other strain. I want to find something worth crossing with MikeJ's Blueberry so I can begin creating my own unique version. I'll see how the cross comes out and then maybe tweak in some additional outside genes to try to fine tune.
So much fun.
